Tide is looking for both permanent and seasonal bus drivers (3-12 months) for Tromsø, one of the most unique cities in Northern Norway.

We Are Looking for Someone Who Has
Category D driving licence
CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) / YSK for bus drivers
A Passenger Transport Licence (Kjøreseddel) or eligibility to apply for one (Tide can assist)
To communicate effectively with passengers, colleagues, and the traffic control centre, you must have Norwegian, Swedish, or English language skills at a minimum B2 level
A safe, service-oriented, and comfortable driving style
Salary and Working Hours
Tide follows the Norwegian Bus Industry Collective Agreement.
The average annual salary for bus drivers is approximately NOK 603,000, depending on seniority, vocational qualifications, competence, and additional allowances.
The bus industry offers various supplements, including shift allowances, evening and weekend premiums, as well as overtime pay. Salary will vary depending on the shifts worked.
Working hours may include split shifts and work at different times of the day, including weekends and public holidays. Overtime pay and other supplements are regulated by the collective agreement.
A Working Life in the North
As a bus driver in Tromsø, you should be prepared for varying weather and driving conditions throughout the year. Winter conditions may include snow, ice, and challenging roads, so it is important that you are confident and comfortable driving in winter weather.
Accommodation When You Start
We help you with accommodation during your start-up period. For the first six months, Tide covers the rent for one of our rooms or apartments.
After this period, you may choose to remain in the accommodation and continue renting at your own expense. Monthly rent typically ranges from approximately NOK 8,000 to NOK 11,000, depending on the property.
If you prefer to find your own accommodation, we can also assist with a rental deposit guarantee, references, and practical support during your housing search.
We Help You Obtain Your Passenger Transport Licence
To work as a bus driver in Norway, you must hold a Norwegian Passenger Transport Licence (Kjøreseddel).
Tide can guide you through the entire process, including the application, medical certificate, and required documentation. Processing times with the police are normally between 2 and 6 weeks, so we recommend starting the process as early as possible.
